नई दिल्ली. केंद्रीय कैबिनेट ने राष्ट्रीय जनसंख्या रजिस्टर (एनपीआर) अपडेट करने को मंजूरी दे दी है। एनपीआर अपडेशन के लिए कैबिनेट ने 8500 करोड़ रुपए के फंड आवंटन को भी स्वीकृति दी है। इसमें देश के नागरिकों का डेटा होगा। अगले साल अप्रैल से एनपीआर अपडेट करने का काम शुरु किया जाएगा। सरकार ने स्पष्ट किया कि एनपीआर अपडेशन के दौरान व्यक्ति द्वारा दी गई जानकारी को ही सही माना जाएगा, उसे कोई दस्तावेज नहीं देना होगा।
